Nano wavebox not working

I just bought this wave box and hooked it up...made two waves and quit...un hooked it took it apart checked it out...put it back together made four waves and quit again...so everytime it quits I pull it out of the water n check it out... Works for a while n then it quits...pump stops working...I have it in a 120 gal. Tank...what am I doing wrong...I adjust the wave frequency it still stops...12 v... Adjusted it up same thing...: (

The pump still runs when I take off the controller...but when I put it on it stops... The only way it will start back up again is when I take the impeller out of the pump...

I would do the following, take the wavebox out so you can look in the outlet, make sure the prop is roughly centered in the outlet hole, if it looks like it would hit the sides or bind, this may be it. The other possibility is new pumps are often stiff, I would use 24V and see if it then works, you can turn it down later but for the first 2 weeks it should be run at at least 18V to give it enough power to get moving and wear in. Please let me know how this works and we can take it from there.

Ok...so it binds I guess...it runs for awhile... Makes a clicking sound and stops...if I tap on it...it will start up again...run for awhile n stop...so how do u fix it if it binds...there is some play on the magnet...

We need to find out why it binds to solve this. This is the key- if you look into the outlet, is the propeller roughly centered? It should not be hitting the back edges of the outlet pipe, it should be centered enough that it would not hit anything. If we can rule that out it is likely just a prop or disk and a simple fix.

So I pulled it out of the water when it stopped...I looked inside the box and the blue propeller was up against the box...so I guess it is not centered...now what...

Either the box or pump are off center and one will need to be replaced, this is entirely made by hand, so while not common, this does happen. The Nano Wavebox is probably the most hand labor of any product we make except the big filter kits. I am not sure if Saskatoon is in the US, but if it is, I am who you would send it to.

Assuming you bought it from a dealer in Canada, you should contact the dealer or Xenia (importer/distributor) www.xeniainc.com. Typically in these cases the motor is either cut short or is crooked on the plate. The motor is a 6055 that is cut and glued to the base plate.
