Hello Roger,

Lately I have been having problems with my wavebox. It stops working. It has been happening one twice a week till yesterday when it stopped 3 times during the day. I did take it apart and cleaned everything but looks like its getting worse. The controller is working fine just looks like the pump is not
I purchased it from premuim aquatics about 6 months ago.

Please advise.

These problems are difficult as there are 4 possibilities so we need to try to narrow it down.

To start, make sure the power supply and controller are always lit up, this would rule out the power supply almost completely.

Make sure the propeller/magnet (drive unit) spin freely on the shaft and can easily be removed from the pump.

Try the controller slave cable, if this fixes it we know the controller cable has a broken or intermittent connection.

If none of these solve it, likely the motor has a cable break and will need to be replaced.

You are under warranty so anything except a cut cord or water damage to external electronics would be covered.

Hi Roger,
I did test all your suggestion and today the pump stopped again. The controller is always lit up. I dont know if thats important but i can hear a little click every time pump is moving inside the box.

How do I proceed with the warranty?

thanks

It sounds like the propeller may just be broken or slipping. Check this, as if this is all it is we can just send a propeller.

If you take out the drive unit (magnet and propeller assembly) and hold the magnet still in one hand and turn the propeller, it should be stiff to turn and come to a firm stop, if it can spin 360 or has a lot of play, then it is just a disengaged propeller so the magnet is turning and not moving the propeller.

Hi Roger,
sorry for a late response i was out of town. I did what you asked me and the propeller is very stiff and doesnt spin at all.

thanks

I think at this point it is best to send it in and I will get it repaired, please include the controller and power supply.

Is there a way you could send me areplacement first? i dint want to loose it for more then a week.
thanks

I have every part to repair one, but we have not had a nano wavebox in stock for weeks and don't expect for for another 2-3 weeks. Further, we repair items, they are built to be repaired, we don't ship new items as replacements unless it was a DOA.

Just so you know, I complete 90% of the repairs that come in within a day of receipt, including back and forth transit, assuming you use Priority Mail or UPS, your downtime will be maximum 10 days.

ok, i will ship it to you on monday. But i will have to heet the plastic box that the pump is in because i have some corals growing on the side of it. hope thats ok

I think so, ideally I like to get the box, but since it ran for six months I think we can assume the fit of the pump in the box is not the cause. The 6206 is very labor intensive, it is a lot of hand labor as a 6055 is sawed down by hand and so is the front cover and then all these pieces are glued into a 9002 skimmer body. I cringe when I see them being made as I figure it is only a matter of time before someone loses a finger or two on that saw. Because of this production is slow and mistakes can be made in alignment so that is why I prefer to get the box but I can understand in this case and I think we should be OK.

Hi Roger,

I was wondering if you shipped my pump back? i was hopeing to get it today but didnt. If you did do you have by any chance tracking info?
thanks

Hi Roger,

Hope you had a good Holidays,
Unfortunately i still have this same problem with my pump. after receiving it from you i have noticed that it was stooping one a week and now it doesn't even turn on in the morning when the light come on. I have to shake it in order for the pump to spin. The controller shows that pump is working but the pump doesn't spin.

Also i have noticed that the pump is much louder that was before.

thanks
Kamil

Kamil,

I am out of spare pumps, next week we get more, can you PM me your address and I will send a new pump and return label?

Roger
