NanocubeDX Hood Lights Problem

Hi Y'all.

I'm back in town for a few days and need a quick solution.

I have a 12G Nano I bought used over a year ago. It was almost a year old when I bought it.

My lights in my hood won't light. The moon lights work, the fans are running, but the fluors won't light. This happened about a month go. I bought new tubes from AA and it was fine then. Now they won't light.

What's the problem?

In worse case scenario, what can I use for a substitute? I have to go back out of on Tuesday and hope to have a fix by then.

Thanks.

Jim

Also i would check the connection between the bulb pins and the socket. make sure proper contact is being made and that there is no build up on the wires or pins. A lot of times when the plastic shield over the bulbs has been taken off the moisture and salt erode the connections in the wiring. Post pics of the lighting, that may help diagnose the problem. good luck!

I took it apart, upclipped all the connections and cleaned them and no change.

I think I need to get some light in there, but at the moment I have not options. I'm thinking of buying a new lamp, but what I have seen so far at Petco, won't work. All them say NOT for tanks without a cover. Can you recommend sometihing?

Ballast...80% Sure. I just replaced the ballast on my JBJ 24gallon NC. Go to nanotuners.com, they treat you well.

also you may try hellolights.com they have good pricing on nano lights and retro kits and there shipping is super fast. did everything in the ballast look alright? you may also check the on/off switch to see if that has melted. I have had that happen before :)

Hellolights prices are a bit high and the corallife bulbs suck. Id stick with JBJ bulbs (but that would be a different thread). Still sure it is the ballast...
