I don't think you need a license for sugar gliders. I have seen them at regular pet shops. They are real cute..awwwwa..

AWWW!

She's really cute! Do you have to have a license to own the Sugar Gliders? And WHERE did you GET them? They look adorable and SOOOO cute!

Its nice to know that your corals are growing back. My father just bought two red Montipora's on Sunday, and he can't wait for them to grow and fan out. One was not in direct light (we have strong lighting), so he had to put it lower to the bottom of the tank. But nice job!

Thanks :)

I breed them :) I produce all of the babies from my pairs, though I am going to neuter most of my males and cut back on the breeding.

You have to be USDA licensed if you have three breeding age females in your collection. You don't have to be licensed to own a couple. Some states do not allow sugar gliders however.

Goodluck with the montiporas! I hate having to adjust them to lighting.

Nope, not to own them. I wouldn't ever buy ones from pet stores though. They are either imported, neglected drop offs, or probably a good chance infected with bacteria.

I would *strongly* suggest getting them from a local breeder where you could visit there facility and see how they treat and care for their gliders. They are marsupials, nothing like small rodents and require lots more specialized attention to do well. Especially to breed and socialize.

NG - God I love those little fuzz balls (aka gliders:p ) Hey I've been trying to look all day for a D50 and no store has it. This guy at Best Buy said the D40 took over? Nikon is weird with numbers so didn't know if I should buy the D40. Care to help the rookie camera guy:D

Funny you say that Nano Girl. I am the same way with dogs. I would never buy one from a shop. I guess the same applies. I always want to see the temperment of the puppies parents when I get a dog..

Yea, I think the D40 is the newer version of the D50. It really just depends on what you're looking for. The D70 is a step up and so is the D80, but for what I do it wasn't worth the money. In my opinion it would be a waste of money for you too.

I would suggest going with the D40 stock kit and lense and play with it. Instead of spending $900 now, get the D40 and learn it for awhile and see what you like and don't like. Then after you know what you like and want, I would step up to the $1500 range to $2000 range to get something significantly better, but you will probably never need that unless you really get into photos.

Our was $599. It works well for what it is. I plan to upgrade one probably next year and use this one for vacation photos in case I break or lose it. The next camera I get I will probably just buy stock kit and buy my own lenses. That way I can get exactly what I want, instead of just a stock lense. But the stock lense that comes with the D40 is great for almost everything.

If you want to do great macros though, you'll need a true macro lense. The stock lense doesn't compare and I was a little disapointed with mine. I'm still learning everything though and still can't get the White Balance exactly right. The guys over in the photo forum could probably help you out a lot more then I can. But for $600 the D40 is a great camera imo.

:)

Yup! Support your local breeders for sure! Your dog is adorable!

NanoGurl ! You have a great Tank and the Dog.
Did you ever fix the overflow drain problem.
I am just getting out of 4 yr old 72g reef and moving to a AGA 125 FOWLR Tank. Thanks for great PICs its going to help me in my layout for the Tank/Sump..

Thanks :)

Yes, I fixed the problem by adding a few turns to my drain so the water drained a bit slower. This fixed my flushing problem. I am now running the Mag 5 which works a lot better for the flow through the sump, but I still have a lot of micro bubbles and it's very frustrating!

If you set up a thread let me know, I'll tag along :)

Muhahha thanks for the advice and help. I'll pick one up sometime this week:D. Say how wide is your rock work in the tank? I'm in the process of taking down my wall and re-aquascaping

Love your newest glider. Those guys are sooooo cute! How it curls up in your hand -- you could do that with very few critters from our tanks. :)

Well your tank is 18'' wide so just wondering about how much space do you have on the front of the tank? I'm greatly considering selling my 90 for a 120 because of that extra 6'' of space. :D I just cant clear enough space on the front of the tank so my goby can do all of his digging.

Oh.. yea, I only have about 3" to 5" at spots, but I don't like a lot of rockwork. The overflow really takes up a lot of space. I like the 24" deep tanks too. I was also looking at the 120 for that exact reason.

Another cute one.

Ok back to reefin'... have you seen any fluctuation in your Ca and Alk demands now that you have added some LPS corals? If so how are you dealing with it?

Are you planning on lowering the lights any at all? I have a similar setup on my tank, just not pretty looking as yours :D , and sems like I loose a lot of light with it, but if I lower it any more temps seem to raise too much.
