Hey NG! Your pics are great. I'm sooo jealous of all of your different zoos. How do you get such good pics? Glad to see your flatworm problem is getting under control. How do you like your sixline? I got mine originally to help with flatworms and now I'm really glad we have her. They are such pretty fish.

Thanks! I like the six line.. it is pretty. She swims all over and adds some nice color to the tank. I was worried about her and my PBT together but they are fine. My mandarin is starting to look skinny now that I introduced the six line.. so I am going to have to do something about that shortly.

I don't like most of the photos I take. I want a macro lense but I will have to make do until then. I take a lot of photos... sometimes I get lucky... sometimes it takes 100 shots to get a handful that look good enough to post. My camera does not macro well at all... and that's my biggest isssue with it ATM.

Tunze question

Tunze question

I have a 75 gallon set-up very similar to yours, I was looking into getting two nano streams for my tank, would you mind posting pictures of yours so I can determine a good place in my tank to locate them for the best water flow through my tank.

Thank you,
Austin

I highly recommend the Sigma 50mm fixed macro lense. It really depends on how far back you want to stand back though. The 50mm allows me to place the lense flush with my tank which reduces the glare I get from the sun. I bought my lense for $124 as I was buying a bunch of lenses to test and its by far my favorite macro lense. If you choose another brand make sure it gets a 1:1 ratio. This will allow you to make a 1 inch frag look like it is a huge branch and allows for great detail on the polyps.

Hi Austin,

I can, but I don't think it's going to do much good. The water flow is going to be different in every tank, depending on how your rock is setup, how much you have, and your returns as well. I have my tunze's pointed up high, to swirl around and my return pointed low to mix that around. If I point my tunze down into the middle of the tank it blows my softies around too much, which is no good for my setup.

It really depends on what kind of corals you have. Watch for good flow. Throw food in there or mix up the sand a bit to see the detris moving around. That will show you how good your flow is and where it's going. If you see food/algae settling in certain spots.. they are probably dead spots and you will want to adjust your flow to keep it moving.

Hiya, thanks! I'll check it out. I really would like to get something soon. =) I think the macro shots are really nice.

i love you fish OCEAN and your sun coral. i just saw some sun coral at a local pet store for $40 and thinking of getting one with about 10 heads on it. would u say keeping them on the bed of the tank is best so they dont spread to much?
also since some people have posted pics of other pets they have like your flying squierls so here is one of mine
amadaus.jpg
his name is amadaus and he is about 2' long so dont worry :)

I used to have bad flatworm problems... until I got a small group of fairy wrasses and a genicanthus angel. They whiped out my FW problem within a week... and I had them bad.

Lamarck's Angelfish... they eat red planaria/flatworms!!! I couldnt believe it, but that bugger ate them so much he got fat and I had to stop feeding the tank for a bit to slim him down! The wrasses got fat too... but not as much as the Angel!

Ack! Who let that lose in my thread!?! :P

Thanks. Sun corals can be placed anywhere. They will do better in shade such as in a cave, or under a shelf. They dont' spread that fast so I wouldn't worry about it. The sandbed is usually where they are placed.

Your tank looks great! I love the black clowns. I wanted to add a pair to my tank but already have a pair of reg ocellaris clowns.

NanoGurl, what kind of sand grade do u have in ur tank? with that sand do u experience sandstorm? also does that sand do good with sandsifting fish?
