Your tank looks great! I love the black clowns. I wanted to add a pair to my tank but already have a pair of reg ocellaris clowns.

Thanks! Yea, the clowns are great fish to have.

NanoGurl, what kind of sand grade do u have in ur tank? with that sand do u experience sandstorm? also does that sand do good with sandsifting fish?

I have the CaribSea Aragonite sand:

No problems with sandstorms at all. I'm not sure about certain sandsifting fish... i know a lot need sugar sized. Mine is the next step up.

I was thinking about putting down a layer of the aragonite and then a good sized layer of the sugar sized above that. I'm also contemplating Seachem Maridian as a top substrate. Hopefully sandstorms wont be a problem.

I believe he's talking about the current and animals creating a sand storm with the sugar sized.. which does and can happen.

ARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!! I just got my DSL fixed and I havent been able to go on RC since LAST monday! Anybody miss me? I feel like such an addict! I miss all of guys like crazy! NG the pics look GREAT! Sorry, I had to get that out of my system. I think I'm calling in sick tomarrow so I can get caught up! :)

BTW my red open brain died :( I think it was hurt when I bought it and I just didnt know it because it was my first one. Oh well, I know better now, bummer.

I See! Yeah could be a problem but with any sand you have in your tank your fish could stir up. sugar sized more easily though. More Pictures More Pictures!! haha great thread nanogurl!

Foxface Fish

Who has them? Who likes them? Who doesn't like them?

For those that have them, what has your experience been with keeping them with corals. I have read they can be coral pickers. Is this true? Is this in the same realm as a PBT can be a coral picker, or more along the lines of an angel being a picker?

Thanks!

BTW, no I'm not adding a rabbit fish to my 75. I am thinking of one for the larger tank when we get it. Nothing else is being added to my 75 to give Ocean the most room until he's upgraded.

I don't like them, plus they are poisonous if you happen to make contact with their dorsal spines.

They are great for mowing down algae like bryopsis, but even when I was battling that I didn't get that ugly fish. ;) (Personal taste, not a slam on the beast in question)

lol... why don't you like them? Bc they "suck" or bc you just don't like them? Meaning, is there a reason behind the meleveness...

I don't like their look. The magnificent foxface is nicer looking, but I still have passed on it.

Yea, the magnificent one is the one we were looking at.. but we're worried bc they are labled as possible coral pickers.

Thanks!

I have a Foxface and I love it. Always cruising my tank looking for algae and I have had no problems with him picking at corals. He did some how manage to get all the algae out from between some paly polyps with out tearing them up, so I would say my particular foxface is very careful about what he eats.

I've observed him eat hair algae, bubble algae, caluerpa, and chaeto.

Unfortunately I'm downsizing from a 75 to a 20 while I'm in school so he's going to a new home :(
