Nassarius snails and conch attacked my clam

OK so I came home today and my nassarius snails and my fighting conch were all over my crocea clam and it hasn't opened back up sence. Is there anything I can do?

Here's a pic for reference:

that looks like it may be a crown 'conch'. if it is, it's a predator of other molluscs.
can you get a better pic of the clam? that looks kinda weird for a crocea clam.

well I've pulled the clam outa my tank so it wouldn't pollute anything cause I figured it was dead! the conch is, or was sold to me as, a "fighting conch"??? I dunno it's a great sand sifter though

not a fighting conch for sure. if it is scavenging a clam it is most likely a crown conch as fighting and queen conch are both herbivores. very possible its the reason the clam is dead. no need to take it out. should have opened the mantle and let them have a good meal. they wouldn't leave anything to pollute.

That's a Melongena species killing your clam, and the Nassarius snails are waiting for the leftovers. He's not a fighting conch, I'd recommend removing him before you replace the clam (unless you think he's cooler, in which case you should put some other larger molluscs in the tank for him to eat).

Cheers,

Don

aka crown conch (just for confusion sake)

OK cool I'll be sure to pull him outa there before putting another clam in there. Thanks everyone for the heads up! The nassarius snails are ok though right?
