nassarius (sp) snails?

what kind of snails are these?

Nassarius snails have that little snorkel. When they are buried in the sand, and you throw food in there, you can see their litttle snorkels pop up through the sand. They are cute. I love them.

Those above seem to be cerith.
 
Yes, they are ceriths. There are lots of snails with "snorkels" though, so don't try to use that feature to ID a snail as a Nassarius species.

red spotted snails have a long snorkel. That's not the correct term for them, but my LFS said they are 'rare' lol
 
Don't most/all whelk's have snorkels? Nassarius are the only members of the family that you'd want in a normal reef tank.
