Natural Sunlight - Yes or No!

Hello,
I've been a frequent user of natural sunlight on my tanks, both fresh and saltwater. I'm curious, whats the general opinion on natural sunlight, yes do you use it, or no do you avoid it?

I'm yes all the way, best light source I can get, AS LONG AS you balance out your water quality with what you keep in the tank to ensure you have no MASSIVE algae blooms!

Whats the ReefCentral consensus?

I just moved my tank clear across the room so I could have it near to a window to get some sunlight. I love it and so do my corals!

Nutrients cause algae blooms not light. Or no one would have 250-400 MH over their tanks.

Good Poll..... Given most tanks are located inside homes, buildings etc.... I think it would be difficult to build a skylight that would allow more than a few hours of direct Sunlight daily..... Also, given possibilities for bad weather and decrease in intensity during winter I'm not sure how much one can rely on sunlight to maintain a reef..... I guess if you live in a warm climate area with great weather all year round it could work..... Might fit into a house design very well.... but in good old New Jersey I'd make sure there were back up lights available for a rainy day.....

Totally agree with the nutrients statement - Many people have poor water quality, and NSL can help consume the tank with algae very very quickly.
