Ask one of the moderators to stick this post at the top of the forum.

Also, may be we should go ahead and remove all those polls that are stuck at the top.

sanjay.

Sounds good, but we should document that info for future reference. I am looking forward to the swap. See you all there. Maybe this time I will have some stuff to trade, we will see.

thanks,

Rick

Just so you folks know..I have a seminar that whole weekend about an hour and a half away...and that sucks because the swap is only 10 minutes away from where I live...figures.

Anyway...I'll be there, but I won't be able to help setup..I'll bug out of the seminar early and catch the tail end of the swap...I guess I'll have to get somebody to buy me some raffle tickets ahead of time. :) ..and Brad..we'll have to catch up in advance to get my box of NCPARS stuff to you for the front table.

Sanjay, those posts are now stickied/unstickied. Ricky, yes we should (and will) archive them.

Sorry about the timing Kevin, as always it was a matter of when we could get a good space. We'll get your stuff, and I'm sure someone can pick up anything you order ahead of time on fragswapper.

I probably won't trade this time around..too much going on and the tank is not stable...I may sell off some stuff, but that's about it. I mainly want to go to support the club..expecially since it's close.

We are happy to have a new location in Reading! We're hoping that we will get visitors from NJ, Baltimore, Philly, and Washington, so that we can see some new faces (and some new frags).

We are working on a 2+ year schedule to move swaps around, to move through places including Harrisburg, State College, Williamsport, Allentown, and Wilkes-Barre.

Kevin, Drop the stuff off at the office. I will get it there.

Sweet I thought this was originally going to be on the 18th and I have to be in Florida that weekend. I can finally make a swap if it is on the 4th. Count me in!

Shimmy: Reefnest has been talking about a swap sometime in November, and I think Nov. 18 was one of the dates discussed there. Our swap is separate (and in a totally different place!) from whatever Mo is putting together. We'll be happy to see you in Reading!

It's also no problem to go to both. More frags for everyone that way!
:)

Yeah maybe thats what I was thinking of. Oh well either way I get to go to a swap so I am happy. Now all I gotta do is hope and pray I don't get stuck working that weekend.

Crap! This is scheduled when I have to take kids to a conference in Pitt. Wouldn't you know it, I'm trying to keep my calendar open for October since that's been the swap months and now I can't go.

November is a horrible month for us. We have tree harvesting with my parents from the middle of the month to the middle of December (which means I have to skip Reefnest's event as well.) I hope we're not sticking with November as a yearly thing, because then we'll only be able to attend the spring swaps and that's only if it doesn' t interfere with the required graduations and such.

I'm bummed now.

Sorry about that! I would be bummed too. The timing this time was mostly determined by when we could get space at an affordable place, and several October dates we looked at were booked up. I don't think there's any real plan about fall timing for the future, it just worked out this way this time. Basically, the only constraint I would always want to keep in mind is that it's risky to plan anything between December and late March because of the chance of bad weather. Starting Mid-November people also really start to get busy with the holidays (or tree harvesting, or whatever).

I think we'll try to work this winter on the idea of putting folks in touch with others who live near them, and then maybe during the winter months more local folks can have mini-swaps, meetings, etc. It looks like Catawissa is sort of halfway between everyplace, so maybe that will give you options! And if you'd ever like to come to State College, we'll be happy to give you the tour, and some of us always have at least a few frags.

I can't believe that Catawissa is in the middle of anything :) Actually, I live so far in jibip that they have to call it Catawissa so that we have a post office. However, I work in Bloomsburg and there'd be far more opportunities for a location within that larger town than there is in little Catawissa. Plus, it's easier to find off of 80.

It would be nice to have something in the winter, but it's a struggle with the weather cooperating. I know that we personally buy more livestock in the winter months and like to travel to stores to check out the stock. However, I'd be afraid to plan an event and then have it snow or get icy. I guess that's one of those things you'd have to weigh.

Yea Murph, we do buy more in winter, I was just planning on ordering me a bunch of stuff here once the fishroom in the basement is cleaned out and redone. Probably before Christmas, but not sure, depends on how ambitious I get with the basement.

I have a new frag tank setup idea I am going to try, its a variation of the style Anthony Calfo used in the greenhouse facility.

Mini swaps sound great and depending on my school workload I may be able to travel around to some of these swaps and help out. I love the interaction and contact with those in the club, plus I could gather information for the newsletters I want to do.

Not only that I don't mind driving in the snow(4X4) lol, and I am crazy to boot.

thanks,

Rick

2 weeks to the swap.... post your stuff in fragswapper, and send me tank photos. I've posted about the swap in Maryland, Delaware, NJ, and NY club newsgroups, and so I think we'll have some fresh faces (and new frags?) to enjoy!
