Neat smaller reef fish ideas

So I want to go with smaller fish this time around in my reef. Granted I have a chevron tang, midas and starry blenny, and ocellaris clown pair already.

I have some P. nocturna gobies too, and a small species of eel blenny. I was thinking of getting some yellow ones? Maybe a pinkstreak wrasse pair? Or possum wrasse? Any other thoughts? I don't mind cryptic, but I also have rock pillars, so not a massive amount of hiding places like one would get from a "wall" type reef structure.

i think you should still try 1 (or better yet, 2) longnose hawkfish. :)

Aioliops megastigma dartfish, they are small, actually school, and are colorful. The difficulty with them is they need to be started off on live baby brine and nrrd multiple feedings a day.

Another option is the curious wormfish, Gunnelichthys curiosus, peaceful, colorful, and interesting.

Two I've never had but thought were cool are the Panda and flaming prawn gobies. I've also always had a thing for black cap basslets .

Those are beautiful, but I've never seen them for sale.

I've always liked the wormfish.

A small group of yellow assessors would treat you well IMO. They have quite the personality bundle in a small package, and watching them swim is always fun!

You can do a possum & a pink streaked wrasse together without a problem. I really like the black barred convict goby, striking little fish.

That one is very high on my list. What is their temperament to small passive fish?

From my experience, they are very territorial and aggressive. Over the years, I have had two (wild caught) in different tanks, with the same results. They are an awesome little fish but aggressive IMO.

Oh that's disappointing to hear :(
