I have a rainbow bta and I'm afraid of it getting sucked up. Does anyone know where I can buy a cover for my powerhead. I have a hydor koralia 240gph powerhead.
Here is what I used:

Tank separator netting. Like plastic needle point stuff.
I made a spray bar...just plumb some PVC running the length of the aquarium and drill some holes. I run a 1000gph submersible pump with a 1.5' head height across a 30g tank...it works great.
Yeah thought this too... Until I came home from vacation and two were gone.
Now that I have the screen on them I have only caught one of my new ones attached once. Turned the pump off and it sank down and kept floating around. Finally attached though.

Good idea. I went with loc-line and a submersible pump in the sump/refugium. The nems are happy, and I don't have to worry about powerheads...though the overflow still worries me, as these are the type that splits regularly.
You never know when they might move tho. I'm fond of black sponge material myself. Ecotech sells a sponge guard for their vortechs. Maybe modify it to fit?
