Need a Probe Holder

Ok, I am starting to setup my Apex system and the probe holder I purchased is not large enough to hold the Temp and PH probes. (I bought the Vertex magnet probe holder.) I am looking for recommendations for off the shelf probe holders I can buy that are large enough to hold these probes. I tried to load them backwards (cord first) as some have suggested but that does not work. I saw a suggestion for the Eshopps holder but then it sounded like only the middle hole was large enough. I don't really want to make something, just buy one that works.

Thanks!
Pat

I bought the Vertex first and used the largest hole for the PH probe. Then bought the Esshops and use the middle hole for the Temp probe. The other holes are all too small.

So I have both.

Avast will custom make one if they don't already have what you're looking for. Great company to deal with.

I just received my Neptune Apex Jr. today, and the temp probe also doesn't have a holder. Really?! They can't give you a .50 cent part to hold the probe!

Two points:

#1) I don't use probe holders for any probes. The pH probe in my calcium reactor uses the port built into the reactor, and the rest just hang in the water column. Not everybody views probe holders as necessary or even useful.

#2) There are so many styles of probe holders that it just doesn't make sense to include a holder that will please maybe 30% of people. Magnetic? Floating? Over the rim? Hanging how low? How many probes? Opaque or clear? What color?

So, go buy whatever pleases you. :)

the problem with this suggestion is that the probes actually float to some degree so just hanging them over the side of the sump is not the best solution. They will "flop" around in the water.

I've been very happy with the Avast probe holder. It's magnetic so it is very easy to position or move out of the way when need be.
