What do you guys think of Tamron 70-300mm & 28-80mm
I am looking for the best brands. I was curious if I should
stay with nikor or get something else?
I'll start by stating that this is only my unprofessional *opinion*. Nothing more. Take it for what you will.
Looking for the best brands = Nikon glass if you have Nikon, Canon glass if you have Canon.
There are indeed some very good third party lenses here and there but generally if you want "the best" then your answer is the above sentence.
You also may want to consider balance/weight in relation to your camera body. The 70-200 2.8 is a fantastic lens (if you can afford the $1,600 new cost) and I myself would LOVE to own one but that lens will off-balance your camera and you'll be supporting the lens more than your camera body. A very nice zoom that a lot of people seem to love is the Nikon 70-300mm VR (vibration reduction) zoom. I've seen stellar results from this lens on your camera body.
If you are looking for macro lenses on a budget I've heard (never experienced) good things about the Sigma macro lenses (particularly the 150mm). But Nikon's 105mm VR macro lens is amazing.
The "best" glass (aka "pro" glass as some call it) is gonna cost you plenty but 1) it's generally always worth it (depending on *your* needs) and 2) retains a fair amount of its value for resale *IF* you take exceedingly good care of it.
Aside from all of that, and the fact that there are many lens combinations that could fit your needs, just have fun shooting and keep on sharing.
Happy Shooting!
