Need advice on RO/DI Unit

I'm looking at one of the following three units. I've read good reviews about all three, and I'm hoping that someone can help me understand all the differences and give me some recommendations based on personal experience.

Option one:

The down side is that it's a slower fill rate than the other two, but that really doesn't matter to me as I will use it to fill a holding tank as needed.
One feature I really like about it is that the gauge tells you when to change out the filters which is a nice feature. I also like that it shows the TDS for both RO and DI (although I really only need it at DI)

First and foremost, this is a local guy and I always like to support local when possible.
I like that it has a color changing DI cartridge to tell when you need to change that out. It has a booster pump with it, but I'm not sure that I would actually need that at my home. I suppose it's still nice to have.

This is the cheapest of the three and has two DI stages (which I've read may not make much difference compared to one). This also has a lifetime warranty which is always nice.

I'm sure there are other features to these that I simply don't know as I'm still fairly new. Please let me know your opinions.

Thanks

I can't speak to any of these units but I do have a similar one from BRS. I have the BRS 4 Stage Value Plus RO/DI System - 75GPD. It works great, water coming out tests beautifully. The only reason I went with this is because the water in my area is already pretty dam good. So assuming the unit you would like from BRS is basically the same with a few upgrades than I would absolutely recommend it. How can you beat a lifetime warranty?

Thanks for the reply. I've ready a lot of good reviews on the BRS unit. Hopefully some others will also chime in with opinions and experiences to help me.

I can only speak of the BRS, I have a 75 gallon a day unit and my water is not the best. TDS going in ranges from 112-128, output 0-1 TDS

The MaxCap for has the best cartridges and the cartridges will last longer than any other RODI in your list. That said, the Melevs one with Spectrapure cartridges would be great. I like that it has a booster pump as that will improve the rejection ratio. You could also add the booster pump to the Spectrapure unit and have the best of both worlds. You will be paying more but by the time you replace the Melevs one or the BRS for that matter with a Spectrapure 99% rejection membrane and swap the DI's out for Maxcap ones, the cost will be close to the same.

Unless you have soft water don't run any RO system at 2:1.

4:1 is ideal.

What is your water source and what are they using as disinfectant?

I live in a small city just outside of Dallas. I'm not sure about the true source or what is done to the water. Do I just call the city and ask, or do I test the water somehow? If I test it what do I test for?

Also check the local forum for a used one, dfwmas.org, if you haven't already. I got a brs 5 stage chloramine plus system for under a $100, filters still had some life and membrane is still going..
