Need advice (shark)

I would say your tank is much more than fully stocked now, with fish that will have compatibility issues in the future. I would not add the shark.

I agree with the previous poster about certain of the species you keep likely to pick on sharks. As he mentioned, in the US, most zoos will not accept hobbyists fish. Have you already got a zoo to agree to take a shark or other large fish from you? Some of your current fish will also outgrow the tank.

If you want to have a shark, I'd set up a dedicated tank just for the shark.

On the internet, you can find just about any story to support what you want to do, often from people with little or no long-term experience. In my opinion, it is wisest to listen to the people who have long-term, real world experience with sharks (alprazo).

+1 I can't imagine tossing a shark into this mix; but I'll bet you do it anyhow.

They will get out :).
I'm still looking for some information.
What if i get the coral shark at a 12 inch will he be able to live for a year or longer? Is it possible to get an coral cat shark egg because in belgium you can only find a banded bamboo shark egg.

I know some of you say it's impossible to hold an shark in my tank but a lot of people says it can.. Those who are having sharks says it would go.

A lot of people end up with dead sharks, a lot of us have had experience with sharks btw. But I'm sure you googled keeping sharks so no need to listen to their advice. Sure a 12 inch shark will very happy in your 150 they dont need to move around or swim or any of that nonsense

Yeah, there's a big difference in asking for opinions and advice and just looking for justification.

lolz at MrTuskfish

Man (or woman) you just need to sit down and realize that a 155 is no place for a shark. And what is with you going on about the shark eggs?

Read this. Notice the smallest tank size is 180 gallons, also notice the 3'6" max size and 1'3" minimum size to buy. The thing will hardly be able to turn in your tank much less live in it. but I don't have as many posts as these seasoned Team RC's. Listen to the experience.

That tank is already grossly over stocked, but just keep ignoring the repetetive comments: the shark will get picked on, a normal zoo wont want such a generic shark, it will outgrow the tank, current stock will not work as is. But hey, dont listen to us, just keep asking about sharks that get too big and their growth rate. Are you looking for justification? Go get the shark then, it will die in your tank. I'm sure you'll ignore this, since its not what you want to hear...

My neighbor's sister has a friend whose hairdresser was watching Oprah and saw someone who heard in the grocery store that a friend's cousin had a co-worker who knew someone who kept a shark in a tank like yours for years. Reportedly, it worked great. Have at it.

Skip the 150 and set up a 300 gallon rubbermaid tote if you want a cat shark, but IMO you will get bored with it very quickly. They do nothing all day.
