I'm looking to upgrade my calcium reactor ..the one I have now is very undersized and I have to refill it ever other month .my system is 575gallons ,heavy stocked with lps and acros .I was thinking aqurium engineering or geo maybe ? Any other options people like for larger calcium reactors ?

Geo 818 with second chamber or reef octopus sr 5000 dual 8" chamber. American engineer is nice but cost more. The regulator is more important than the reactor. The performance of your calcium reactor system is base on the regulator.

I have been intrigued by the ACR. however there seems to be a shipping delay of 4+ weeks and lack of communication from them. Maybe too many orders to handle at once. Also no instructions are included with the unit from what I hear.
Either way, it is definitely on the radar of a game changing product with a lifetime warranty

I have been waiting a while for mine, He is very responsive on Facebook and once you purchased, he has a Facebook group for help. There is an online manual as well. Also, the slowness of shipping is because he is always improving it. He listens to feedback and makes changes.

I know. I have been seeing that and I have spoke with Bill a few times. It’s very tempting I can say that for sure. :D

I was just checking out my buddies Reef Octo dual chamber unit, was shocked by how quiet it was, the adjustable DC pump is cool, so thats a solid option.

GEO is as well, though I heard that they were sold and now quality may not be the same.

For my money, I just bought an ACR and the waiting game begins. No pH probe, push-button effluent control, solid PVC construction, lifetime warranty, and American Made is hard to beat. 8" would be big enough for you I think? He can make any size I am sure.

The Dastaco is very nice. They are. But they pricy, my next reactor might be one!
Geo was sold, but I’m not hearing a difference in quality, but I haven’t bought anything since it was sold. I do however live 25 minutes from the shop hey are made in so a lot of local people buy them and I haven’t heard any mumbling of that

Go with "DaStaCo XtremA Model A-4 Calcium Reactor". My neighbor has the A-2 and it is set and forget it thing.

Way to go I have the A3 model on my 650 gal system it’s pretty much plug-and-play once the initial set up is done set it and forget it, You know that old saying you get what you pay for the system may be expensive but trust me as well worth the money

I purchased aDeltec Twin Arc reactor a number of months ago. Awesome! Best reactor I have ever run! Runs on a very similar (if not the same) concept as the Dastaco. Small compact and super quiet. I ran Geo's prior and prefer this instead. As mentioned above the Dastaco and Deltec are pricey but much easier to use.
