Need feedback for my new reef Setup

Thanks... by now my only issue is regarding to my new Calcium reactor that is not releasing any calcium to the system....

Did you solve the Calcium Reactor mystery?

carlos, in your first picture (FTS), there's a fish (i think) swimming upwards to the right of the clownfish. what kind of fish is this?

It´s an Anthia (commom one)

Lightsluvr, Still showing less than 350ppm of calcium at the exit...
I think my test is not really ok... so I bought one new that will arrive naxt week...

But corals in the aquarium are growing... and a lot...

Best regards...

Some updates...

1- the Calcium test was really bad... I bought a New one form Elos and now it´s reading 350 on the reef, but 630 on Reactor exit.

2- As I was adding lot of CO2 on the reactor, I disbalanced the Calcium Alk balanced. (its 13 DKH to 350 calcium).

So far, nothing bad happened to the reef, but water is beeing changed more frequently and CO2 is reduced on calcium reactor.

Just a Movie that I did yesterday during the 20 minuts that sun light goes to the reef... I like thes sunset moment...

Hello, just to update the post, I decided to create another aquarium tied to the big one.

It´s a small aquarium, as clean as possible and iluminated by 90 x 1W led system.

I´m particularly interested on how SPS growth and colors will react to LED light.

Here are some pictures:

that´s the aquarium:

wowwwwwwwww Carlos parabens pelo tank... looks really nice i can't image how much money you spend on your tank.. specially in Brasil everything is so expensive. your electric bill must be crazy expensive... have you try to run solar power in your house that would save you a lot money and plus that would save your tank too because i know that Brasil have a lot problem with power blackout...

H.Veras

Just because you told... last night we run out of energy for 3 hors...
Have tot ell you that it´s not so often anymore... thanks god our energy crysis ended early 2000´s.

But yes, it´s expensive... something like US$400 monthly (US$150 only for the aquarium) if you consider the average salary here... its two times mor expensive... (US$200,00).

Anyway, my house have three floors and they are concrete basis (3 inches each).... so it´s impossible.

Anyway... I love the Idea... but will be part of my new home project...

Regards.

heheh i know how is it.. sou brasileiro.. my mom lives in brasilia i know how crazy is it... if i was living in brasil i wouldn't think twice to add some solar power in my house there, to keep my tank hassle free. good luck.. where are you from there?

I´m from São Paulo !!!

My english is bad... really bad... but that´s the worst reply I ever made... sorry for that !!!

it's all good don't worry about it... everyone here likes to help... how hard is to buy corals in brasil and are they expensive? "se quiser escrever em portugues pra mim nao tem problem nao"..

Corals in brazil are a mix of forbidden and very expensive...

Usually if you find a store that have a very rare SPS and frag it to sell... You will pay just a little compared even to US... average of US$50 each frag.

But even amazing...it´s forbidden to frag and sell SPSs, so you will be out of the law.

there are stores that sell officially and then... the price is something like US$200 each frag...

it´s crazy, but it´s fun....

hey it's not that bad; usually everything is way over the price there, but 200 for a frag is not that bad.... btw you tank looks beautiful....

H. Veras, thank you... Actually taxes ar over 55% for imported products freight and duties also have taxes... example of how expensive things can Be:

1- tridacna: US$450
2- Flame Angel: US$500
3- Sohal: US$1.200
4- Tunze Master Doc Skimmer 9440: US$2.700,00 (US$960,00 in US)

Amanda Thank you for your comments.
I tried to create three different areas separeted by samoa pink sand... and it reduces ilumination costs (just one bulb per area) and also balanced freescape from Corals...

regards.

Caramba!!!! that's horrible man... i know taxes in brasil are so expensive, but that's too much for a fish that you don't even know if they will survive in your tank it's crazy. hey if you need anything just send me a pm i'll try to help you out... sohal here is about $150... Isto e um roubo:uzi::uzi::uzi:

hey Carlos how is your tank man? i hope you did not lost anything with that big blackout in brazil. good luck... any new update...

Not even one lost... but 5 hours out of energy... and really big problem... just half of the energy was off... so electronic equipment could be lost forever....

Fortunatelly everything is OK here....
