Need Good Wood

Anyone know where I can get some nice 1x8 wood? I want something with no knots so pine is out. And it must be light in color like pine so when I put a clear finish on, it will match the stand. Been to Home Depot and Osh - they don't have anything.

Why am I looking for this? Trying to build a pedistal for my fish tank stand (to raise it) which has a maple finish. The interior of the pedistal will be 2x8's, but I need a nice finishing board for the outside.

Hughes hardwood on Sunrise. Closed on Sundays, open till 4 or 5 on Saturday...

Lowes does have a different selection from Home Depot. Might want to check them out as well.
