Need Help (Missing Fish) What weird place did you find your missing Fish?

Glad you found him..

I had a lawnmower blenny take a plunge down the 14 foot of 3 inch pvc. pass thru a pre filter box and then thru another 10 foot of 1 1/2 pvc into the Refugium tanks.. It was missing for 3 months before i found it... Living happy with all the pods among the Calupera . He is still there. If he wanted to be there this bad who am i to disagree
Heck of a ride yahoo

Did you check the hose running from the overflow to the sump. I once had a fish stuck in there, had to cut a perfectly fine hose to rescue him :).

Hmmm. That might be a possibility, but the wrasse is slim/narrow and the hose quite wide. The flow does go quite strong during peak DC pump settings, so he should have gotten flushed by now.

They do hide in the tightest corners. Last time I found him in Sump Overflow box, but I never saw him at first glance. Took a strong flashlight to notice him in there.

So I do have to start some serious looking. Beyond just a peek, here and there.
Time is running out, unless he is feeding off of leftovers going thru return system (Somewhere!!)
He was nicely fed and plump before he disappeared so I'm assuming they won't starve that quickly.

GOING TO TRY THIS

This Dlink WEB Cam with (TimeLapse Photo capture, Night Vision and Motion Sensor trigger) has been very useful many time.
Found our LOST Hamster, Mice in the house, Squirel doing damage in backyard, etc.

So I set it up for 1 minute snapshots, 24 hours, and Infared-Night Vision.
Motion sensing won't work since too much activity in sump.
But if he comes out, I'll see him (will save me a sump tear apart)

I hope you get lucky again.

I found my beloved snowflake eel stuck to the bottom of my bathroom rug four or five days after he disappeared. I had that fish for 11 years.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I know the feeling.
I had a powerblue tang that I raised from a juvenile for 12+ years.
I had all kinds of tank disasters, and he was around to participate in all of the tank tear downs etc. (Kept me going in some way, to rebuild for him a new stable home).
Would eat from my hand.
Then dumb me got a Clownfish that I didn't QT.
Velvet diseased wiped out every single fish in my tank.
Powder blue was the biggest and was last to go. Was tough seeing him suffer at the end.

So I watched the timelapse video of the sump. Kind of cool seing snails and stuff moving at high speeds. No Wrasse yet.

Going to look around the tank again, remove a few boards behind the 2nd sump where he could have possibly flopped to his death.

DETAILED FLOOR SEARCH DONE!! (Nothing found).

I dug out my high power Q-beam flashlight.

I took off the panel, nothing in that area. Searched complete floor area within 20 feet (found all kinds of stuff...Missing net, parts, hermit shells, etc) but no dead Wrasse fish.

He must be somewhere.

Maybe in the Return Hose. But it drains when system turned off.
Maybe in the sump (can't see everywhere, but not taken apart).
Maybe got a lucky jump into 2nd Tank sump (next to tank).

Will continue the bigger take apart, since not on floor (doubt he could flop out of sump room, beyond 20 feet).

NO LUCK!!

I can't find the Wrasse anywhere (still haven't torn down both sumps).

But the timelapse video shows no wrasse in Sump #2.

Where the heck did he jump too? I even check ceiling and every possible ledge. Moved everything possible off floor everywhere within 20 Feet

It still bothers me that he is possibly alive somewhere.
