Need help MJ1200 leaking on kalk reactor

So, in response to my thread about needing a kalk stirrer, my friend gave me this:

Great right? Yeah but...

I can't get the MJ1200 to stop leaking. I changed out the o-ring, but it's leaking where the volume meets the motors.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try tightening the white clamp a bit with pliers. If that doesn't work, I would replace the pump. They're relatively inexpensive. GL

I think you have two options. Replace with a new pump. Or change to a small mag drive or similar sealed pump.

I suppose you could always epoxy or seal the Maxi jet housing.

Agree with Marvin, go with a better external pump. Mags are ok, eheim better. Don't think I'd trust a maxi as external pump

i've seen those mj pumps leak brand new out of the box. I'll go with the new pump vote and get something that performs well externally.

This wasn't the original design.....someone has changed that pump out ...it should have came with a mj600 and was designed differently than what is in the pic....

Thank you all. I was hoping to just be able to upgrade to a better pump, preferably something quiet. Open to any suggestions.

Matt, I'll give you a call tomorrow.

Thanks!

Great speaking to you today Matt.

I want to give this an opportunity. Does anyone know what small pump has a similar intake and output to a maxi jet 1200?
