Need help selecting HOB skimmer

I need to buy a skimmer for my tank, which has proven to be a difficult task. I have a 60 gallon flatback hex tank with an all-in-one built-in overflow. I tried an Octopus LX1000S and it was too large for the tank. Once I got all the kinks worked out, it worked on the FRONT of the tank. I then modified my overflow in order for it to fit, but it fit too tightly and would not suction correctly. So I am now torn between an Octopus BH-1000 or a 2000, and an AquaC Remora PRO. The Octopus is cheaper by around $50-60, but I am afraid I will have the same problem as I did before, even with a smaller skimmer. The Remora is more expensive but since it doesn't have a surface skimmer, it may fit better. What do you guys think? Is one better than the other, or are they comparable in ease of set-up and actual skimming?

I just swapped out an SWC Mini HoT for an Aquamaxx HoB-1 its rated at 75gal.. not sure if you would consider that too small or not. I installed it on Friday night and the thing is just awesome (IMO +) night and day compared to the SWC. Its already skimming well, its silent compared to the SWC, and it comes apart for cleaning (which the SWC didn't).

Still producing some microbubbles but hopefully within a couple weeks those will pass...

Lol, Reef Octopus won by default... I got a good deal on a BH-2000 on eBay. Hope it arrives in one piece and that it fits!!!

I have the Reef octopus bh 1000 on my 50 gallon breeder, it works great! Hope the one your getting fits

The BH1000 is a great skimmer, as is the 2000
