Need help w/ aqua controller jr.

I just got the serial cable to connect my ACjr to my computer. I do not have a DB 9 port on my laptop so I bought a USB to serial connector. I have not been able to get aqua notes to recognize the connection. My computer recognizes that I am connecting a serial connection, just not the aquanotes. Any advice? anyone experience same prob?

You have to set the options in aquanotes including the serial number of your controller. Make sure the com ports match as well.
