Need help with osmolator

Our osmolator only turns the pump for the makeup water "on". The controllor shows green and orange lights and the pump comes on, even though the water level is too high. Could I have bumped it and fractured the eye? It doesn't looked cracked, but this started a day or so after I removed our skimmer from the sump to clean it. Could there be corrosion in the controller? A loose connection? Any ideas?

Any of those are possible but the more likely possibility is microbubbles sticking to the optic sensor. I base that on the fact that this started after the skimmer was cleaned and likely it is expelling more bubbles now that it is cleaned. The sensor cannot tell the difference between air from being outside the water or clinging bubbles.
