*** need help with picasso fry***

I suspect the water changes you are doing is the culprit. NO water changes until day 5 then make sure you drip in your water change at 1 drop per second. Are you greening the water? Are the fry up against the sides?

Yes aim greening the water and yes some of the fry r up against the sides do u know why?

Try altering the light levels. Might need it a touch dimmer or touch brighter to get the fry away from the walls. Also darker (greener) water often helps with that.

they hang on the sides cause the water isnt tinted enough. add a little more paste if you can. also i only add enough water to cover the pot, i do use aged water, atleast older than 24 hours. and i add about 1/2g or so of parent water just to give it some older water. some use all fresh, i have to. parent water is too dirty. then i drip in 2g every other day after hatch till i got 8g. them on day 5 i do a water change, not much a gal or so, then drip in a gal, not a real slow drip, but it takes 20 minutes to drip it in
. i would suggest buying otohime instead of using decap BBS. its easier to feed and will keep the water cleaner.
alot of deaths really early before day 6 could be caused from lack of O2. with the babies and rotifers in the 10g that is alot of stuff fighting for air. i only feed the rots till day 3 and start feeding otohime A on day 2. i got a starter kit from reeds and it lasts forever.

otohime is also easy to so you dont have to grow another type of food and have buckets everywhere. i get my nanno paste from reeds so i just keep it in the fridge and the only bucket i have is the bucket of rotifers. easy and simple.

Some people will say you can overfeed, but I've never managed that ;) Once they are eating bbs, my feeding levels are such that I feed once a day (morning) such that the larvae never have to swim more than 1 1/2 body lengths without encountering a bbs.

Ok today is day 15 th for the baby clowns the white line is showing only 1 has died since the hach I wish I had a good camera to take pics will try to take sum today:)

thanks for the help guys. My Baby Clowns today 8/31/2011 at day 21 are getting bigger and some look all white . i wish i had a good camera. took some with my iphone but very blurry . So when Can i transfer to a Non-black Surrounding tank ??

Keep them in a tank with painted on 3 sides. I grow them out the same way & so are the adult breeders. Go to the breeding forum & you will see my tanks, Reef Stews fish room is the title.

So Now my other problem is....On the 8TH DAY i TRANFER the FRY into A 10 gallon tank and some FRY hatches on day 9 others day 10 but the remaining (About HALF) turns white and never hatches. iS that normal ??
