I have an emergency! BADLY need 6 of O2surplus' LED driver boards (mine were destroyed by lightning. Anyone have any ideas? He seems to have left the forums.

Thanks

Didn't he freely publish the PCB fabrication (gerber) files or Eagle or other design files?
If so you can get them made yourself from online PCB vendors.
Itead is my favorite but they tend to take a few weeks to get due to shipping from China..

Thanks for the tip. Anyone know where the files are located?

No one seems to know any thing about the files for the PCB. Would you happen to have any contacts that might be able to help? I have close to $2400 (and 4 months work) into this project and it worked perfectly! Now it's junk.

Please guys/gals anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

No, it's this one:

Sorry.. thats all I found..... Might be time to just change the way its all running..

Or just fix what you have.. Not sure the extent of the lightning damage but maybe its just a section of that board like the bluefish or whatever which can be replaced..

Got pics of the lightning damage or whatever.. Maybe we can walk you through a repair/diagnosis of what you have..

That's an "old" board..

see 3209 zip file .. don't know if the board is there though..

sad....
Sorry- That project's a couple of years old at this point. I had to spend some time searching for the build files. It seems that I've lost them. They're longer available.

BLYNK version (sub for bluefish mini)

First, thanks for your trouble!

I should probably explain exactly what happened to the PCBs. My fish room is ventilated with a 4 inch duct which is located in the ceiling above the tank. Lightning knocked down a tree which fell against the upper part of a gable where the exhaust from the duct is directed. This destroyed the duct cover flaps. This let in the rain which was coming down very hard (Florida). Rain ran down the duct pipe and fell on a ventilator (used to help cool the tank). The ventilator spread the water droplets over the PCBs. One in a million - and it happened to me. :sad2:

Here's a pic (average for all boards):

Funny but, every board looks about the same - LDD1 was the main hit. Notice that some areas are rusted. That happened within 1/2 hour!

As you can see, it doesn't look repairable which is why I'm desperate to find out if Aaron published files.

Thanks for all the time you spent oreo. Nothing matched up. I've spent two 14 hour days searching but no luck.

I did find an image of an Eagle(?) file for the board but, no source data.

Does anyone know what chip is just above where the words "BLUEFISH-MINI" is printed and the pin out for it? Short of being able to buy a new one I can try and repair it if I know what needs replacing and where it connects to.

It' a HEF4050BT. PinOut etc. are here:

I assume your talking about your own PCB, right?

Thanks - and yeap I fried one of my boards with a few drops of saltwater.

For pin out, I was meaning which pin connects to what on the board. I guess I can take one of my working ones offline and try and figure it out.

Geeez - I wish O2Surplus was still around.... or even a copy of the Gerber files

Wish I could be of more help but, it's not really possible to tell where the pins connect. Good luck to you.

Well - I guess it's about time that I byte the bullet and try some other way of restoring my lights.

Here's what my lights look like:

Notice (at the bottom right of the PCB) there is a BlueFish Mini attached. It is only on the first board. The rest of the boards are daisy chained to the first, thus giving BlueFish control to all PCBs.

I'm wondering if it's possible to replace the PCBs with 6-up LDD driver boards. My problem would then be attaching the Bluefish Mini controller to the multiple boards in a daisy chain - so to speak. Does anyone know if this is even possible? If so, any ideas about how to go at it?
