Need opinions on the health of this Gigantae Carpet Anemone...

Just bought a carpet anemone at the LFS in a pre-thanksgiving sale.

As far as I could tell everything looked great in the store...maybe I was blinded by the awesome color. Shop keeper said he hasn't seen one this healthy in awhile. It was also really sticky and literally latched on to the rock immediately after I stuck it in the display tank. After being enchanted I forgot to look at the mouth, which is supposedly important. Not that I would know what to look for lol.

Also, I actually didn't realize there was a big difference between the Haddoni and the Gigantae anemone. After reading it looks like I have the Gigantae species, which is much harder to keep.

Everything looks good, but I am concerned it has a gaping mouth. Can someone provide input for me?

Also, I read that two different species in one tank will engage in chemical warfare...I have a BTA on the other side of a 5 foot tank...will this be an issue?

Here is a picture.

So far from picture provided it looks ok. Keep the flow med to high strong light once it settles in feed it mysis once every few days I feed mine once a day cause I want it to overtake the tank. Bubble tip should be ok but still keep an eye on it. If it stays like pic I wouldn't do any treatment. Also stickiness doesn't mean healthy or unhealthy. So don't use it to determine the health. Nice pick up. I wish my lfs has them I always have to order online only. Good luck

Mouth closed up nice and tight after eating this morning.

It's coloring up, nice and blue even under 14k-ish lighting. Had a hitchhiker clownfish, so now I have three....hopefully they play nice because I can't get the new one out.

beautiful gig, I love the blues but I've never been able to get a hold of one with a reasonable price tag (not $450 on DD).

Yesterday, I found him like the below photo, which looks moderately weird and droopy with mouth open.

Today, he is like this which looks relatively healthy to me. Maybe I am just spooking myself out.

Be cautious, its looking good at the moment. Things can turn south very quickly, just be prepared. The mouth is still slightly agape.

When they start going back and forth between looking good and looking bad, that's a bad sign. I would start getting things together to treat him with medications. If he stays good from this point, leave him alone. If it starts going 2 days good, one day bad, waiting until one day good, two days bad may be too late.

This.

Absolutely beautiful. Hope it's ok.

If you're interested in picking one up, Aquatic Collection in Hayward had two of them this past weekend. Both will need to be treated though.

Aquatic Collection is a great place! Unfortunately I don't have a quarantine tank yet:( Someday.

I do want a green bta. I currently have 2 rbta and one long tentacle that I don't know what it is. I'm planning on starting a thread asking advice.

Thanks.
