Need replacement impellor assembly for 6105

Hello Roger,

While cleaning my 6105, which was running at the time, I had great difficulty getting the impellor out, and when it did come out, the small black plastic piece that holds the impellor shaft to the main body of the power head came apart.

It appears I may only need this small part to get the power head running again. What is the quickest way to get one?

I purchased from Premium Aquatics in 2011

Sorry I was mistaken it is my newest 6105 that I bought in June 2012.

It is blue in that drawing, the small blue piece but I don't think I have the darker blue part.

Does this make more sense?

Now I do wonder if I have the ring and the piece I was referring to is still inside the unit. I thought it broke because the ring part came out. It is a separate piece then? I did not try to reassemble it. I'm at work and will have to go home to try.

Yes, the black disk just sits in the blue cup which is a shock absorber, the slotted side faces the drive unit magnet.

Nope, should be this one and on all Stream pumps the shaft does not spin, even on the old ones where the shaft was removable, the magnet spins on the shaft, if they are fused, while the old removable type may spin for a while it will burn out the pump if left in this condition.

This is the disk at the base of the shaft

The metal shaft is permanently part of the motor since Nov 2011, if it gets pulled out, the motor is essentially destroyed though it may be repairable.

Ugh.

So if the shaft is no longer in my 6105 that's a problem correct?

This sounds like a problem on my 6205s as well. The drive units are fuzed to the shafts, and the shafts must be spinning. I had tried to find out about that earlier this year but missed the response. What should I do about that? I may need new impellor assemblies for the 6205s.

Also I have another 6105 I have to check out. Perhaps that one is rotating freely which was part of my confusion.

I can't seem to follow the first link, sorry I end up with a message

Go to Tunze.com, select United States and then enter in search 6105.701 and 3005.740.

For the new style pumps with the fixed shaft, if they are pulled out, send them in, include the shaft and 50% of the time we can reinsert them if the seat is not damaged. On 6205's, unless the motors were replaced last year, the shaft should be the removable type, drive unit 6205.700. These have a blue bushing on either end of the shaft and it spans back of the pump to the front cover.

Upon coming home and inspecting the 6105, the impellor shaft came loose while I was trying to extract the drive unit from the motor. I am shipping the 6105 with its impellor shaft and drive unit to you tomorrow. I will order replacements for the 6205 impellor assemblies. I have another 6105 that needs to be inspected but I think its okay.
