I can say from experience that your mag is splitting. Mine did the exact same thing.
Here's what it looked like when I got it:
It clearly had two mouths, and like yours, both were eating.
After six weeks, it appeared to stop splitting, so I removed it, took a brand new single-edged razor blade, and sliced the nem in half. I now have two healthy clones:
Based on what I can see in the photos and video, I'm confident that if you wanted to finish the splitting process, you can cut them as I did. Just make sure to do it quickly with a sharp razor blade using a single slicing motion (don't saw at it like you would a piece of wood).
