ok little background: this one was shipped from Indonesia to me and labeled as: rare metalic entacmea quadricolor, extra priced one. Spooky nem and seriously doubt they sent me BTA anemone. IT has bubbles ok, but it looks to me more like majano from hell then bta. Most likely some local tide pools junk. I mean Im no bta expert have you noticed your btas sleep in egg like this one.. do you guys know what this is?. Shots are taken when when lights were out to show its column and balled form.. Ill upload later some daylight pics

thx.

That is a BTA. The behavior is normal for many species. BTA, magnifica, LTA and quite a few other anemones will ball up. Especially at night, or when the lights first go out.

1+. it is a BTA, but not a special rare metalic color one. It look to me like it just the usual color BTA. Your picture may not show the special color that it may show in person. It is a little stressed. Once adapt to your tank he will likely look much better.

thx guys :) Funny thing. I expected for entacmea to chose bit shaded spot but this one sits directly under 150 MH, something like my ritteris prefered to chose. I put it there when lights were out, but I thought its going move to spot according to its needs.. This one is still put, for over one month by now..hmm. If its extremely unhappy there it should wander off by itself, right?

A Magnifica would climb to the top of the rock and face the light, not the side of the rock and exposed to the light at an angle. Your Maxima looks nice. Any picture of it open up in full glory?

Thx :) I like maxys too. My favorite clams. Cool picture, looks like those shots taken in ther natural habitat. Got two of them at the moment. other one is bigger.. Big ones are over here unfortunately hard to come by. Just small from aquaculture farms.

Yeah, that is an E. quadricolor. Actually it looks healthy. Although it's not a "metallic green" as the dealer misrepresented it to be, it still will likely make an attractive addition to your tank, especially as it grows and settles in.
