Need some help.

If you have a counterweight available, you can connect the straps to it and belay the straps. That way, as it slides down you aren't dealing with the wieght, just making sure it stays on track. A window opposite the stairs would allow you to tie it to a car, a tree, or similar. Looping it around a tree would create a pully. The ideal equipment would be a repelling type harness. I have seen a simiar method used to lower a cast iron furnace down some stairs.

Just talked to someone who brought the same tank not two months ago, it weighs in at almost 900#'s.

It is a beautiful tank though!

See you on Saturday!

When I was in Puppy Center they had big suction cups to help lift the tank along with the ones you have already I think we will be set.

Just a reminder for Saturday. A few people unfortunately had to back out. Hopefully most will be able to make it. I will send out PM's to everyone in a few hours as a follow up with my address and cell #.

I could use a bunch of guys to meet me a Puppy Center in W. Hartford for 12 noon to help us load this beast onto the truck. Then we'll head to my house. Some people are meeting at my house between 11-11:30 to ride down with me. I'm in Enfield, so if anyone wants to meet here and ride with me that's cool. Thanks again to all who have offered to help. Much appreciated.

Cato did you tell everyone there is a spiral stair case rated for 400lb that we need to go down then cross the drawbridge to get into the yard oh and then there is the gators oh never mind they dont need to know all this LOL

On another note, the store we're picking up my tank at is putting together a bunch of specials for everyone when we get there on Sat morn if you're interested. We're gonna try to post them on the CTARS site asap so keep a lookout. The specials will be offered to every member of the club from what I understand not just the peeps that help me load this behemouth. lol

Just dropped by PC after work...man that's a hot tank. Good luck with the move, hope all goes as planned.

Well when talking to the guys at puppy center we figured prob the best way is to lay some plywood along the bulkhead stairs and use a couple tow straps to slowly lower it and slide it down.

I bought 2 straps rated for 10,000lbs each. They are 27 feet long each. And I have plywood ready.

Everyone eat your Wheaties!!!!! lol

Hopefully you have 3/4" ply. You might want to put a couple of 2/4's or 2x6's underneath for a little extra strength. It will also make it easier to pick up when it gets to the bottom of the stairs. Especially if you have a pair of them sitting on the floor at the base of the bulk head.

Good luck!

oh... ;)

Hi all. Just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who helped out on Sat. Great BBQ afterward. Been hard at work plumbing my skimmer and return to finally get my holding tubs back online. Pics of the upgrade are coming soon. I promise. Most likely I will start a new thread of the new build. Stay tuned.
