Need some plumbing help

I just re did my plumbing and it was long over due. I bought the 1200 eshopps overflow box from DFS and the 2 returns that I have going into my fuge are shooting out a ton of bubbles. There is nothing in there but small rocks, dsb and some cheato but I would still like to reduce those bubbles. I can't use any socks. Any suggestions to help with this?

There is also a loud "waterfall sound" from the overflow box which is getting annoying and I was going to order a silencer for it from premiumaquatics. Hopefully it will take care of that noise.

It is submerged. The bubbles that it's giving back to the dt are coming from waterfall effect of the water that is going over the last baffle into the return pump chamber. The pump then sucks up those bubbles and pushes it up to the display. I'm going to see if putting a foam block right next to that baffle solves that problem.

not sure of your set up but see if raising the pump chamber water level helps. usually this is where you put your ATO float valve, if so raise it so the level is 1/2" or 1/4" below the last baffle so the water basically flows over and you don't have the water fall

Raising the water level does help with the return giving off bubbles back into the DT. I don't have a ATO system though and not setting one up at the moment. Would putting a foam block there or another baffle at an angle help?

I have one of these units, I believe the same one. If so, the drains (not sure of the correct term) have 3-4" inserts w/ smaller tube/vent mounted to the inside. The noise can be adjusted out by rotating the position of these vents - sometimes very small amounts of rotation can make a big difference. You must identify which one is making the noise or adjust them one at a time. Also, if using the flex tubing for drains, I have found that flattening out and even creating a small hump almost a 1/2 p-trap if that makes sense - will eliminate or change the noise.

On mine it took a considerable amount of tweaking, but once the sweet spot(s) is attained it is nearly silent and never has to be messed with unless you change something. I do get some bubbles, but nothing major and it is dealt with w/ bubble traps in the sump so none return to the tank.
