Hey,
I have been doing research on Bta(Bubble-Tip-Anemone) for over 5months...and I think I am ready for one....Can someone give me more information on How to feed it and what to feed it? And what i need to get. tell me if my set-up is good enough for one of these fragile animals. I have had the tank for about 8monthsThanks in advance

BTA's are the easiest anenome's to keep. I feed mine silversides and krill, when you purchase yours make sure that it is sticky and that it's mouth is not gaping open. Anything you find that is white is probably bleached out and not healthy. They attach to rocks and will move until they get the lighting that they like. So be careful it doesn't get taken into any intakes and that it doesn't get burned on your heater. With the corals you have I am assuming you have at least PC's which are usually sufficient for BTA's.

As mentioned ... if you pick out a healthy specimen from the start, you'll be off to a much better start. Make sure the mouth is nice and tightly closed, no bleaching, etc.. (all that's been mentioned)

Rjm1983 had it bang on for the most part.

Feed it meaty foods, small enough to fit in the BTA's mouth. Turkey baste the food gently onto the anemone. Make sure you feed the fish first or else they will just steal it all from the anemone.

Good luck.

I thought you did your research? :p just kidding.

The best way to do it, is drip acclimate. Remove the BTA (or keep it in the bag, your choice) and start the drip. If you're not sure what or how to drip, just let me know.. it just saves a bunch of typing.

I'd drip for about an hour, place it in an ideal spot in your tank (ex: receiving overall good light, and a moderate, gentle flow) If you can put one in an area like that.. it may not move around on you at all. That's definately not a guarantee though.

HTH, if not let me know! :)

i personally follow the acclimation as it was a fish.. usually take about an hour maybe a little longer.. for lights for the most part everyone gets one actinic and one 10,000K.. this will give you a nice color..if i were you i would try to find one from another persons tank locally first, this way you know there is more of a chance for it to be healthy, if so find a clone..many BTA's split readily in the tank once established.. i have a few bta's and i feed them silversides, krill, raw shrimp, mysis, cyclopeeze, scallops..also if not done alreayd cover ALL filter and or powerhead intakes, if not you have a chance of the anemone wandering around right into the intake and this will most often kill the anemone.. Also buy the anemone accoring to the size of the maroon(dont buy an anemone smaller or around the same size as the clown).. these clowns are notorious for being very hard on there host.. mine is very aggressive with her anemones(BTA'S)..HTH

I dont know how to drip accliaminate it...I want the best for my bta so what lighting would be the BEST 2 10k or 1 blue 1 white? I dont have any powerheads...Yea i read about covering your intake and about the bta has to be at least 2times bigget than the clownfish...Thanks for all your help

the way I drip aclimate it set it in a tupperwear container ( I prefer taller ones) and put the critter in there with enough water to just cover it up and than get a piece of air line hose and stick one side in your tank and than one side in the container. I tie a very loose not in the tubing before hand ( I stress very loose, something kinda like a pretsel) and than suck on it... yeah your going to taste the ocean for a second and than tighten the not until you get about a drip / second
