Need to restock

I just lost my entire 270 due to a power failure. I remember hearing that there was a really great store in western PA as far as quarenteening fish for a long time and making sure they survive are disease free and are eating. I don't remember what it was though.

Sorry for your loss.

Not sure exactly which store you are thinking of, but the big LFS's in the area that I know of:

Elmers Aquarium
Dave's Aquastock
Aquaworld
Wet Pets & Friends

I usually go to Elmers and have never had an issue with the quality received from them. I am still newer to the hobby (started Oct 2012), so I'm sure others will chime in.

I know the feeling I am going to have to restock my tank at some point also. I have something killing my fish 1 by 1 starting with the largest first. I have lost about $400+ in fish this month. I can not find what is doing it and tank has been up for 2 years.

Restocking a 270 will require a lot of livestock. With that kind of volume, I'd just do liveaquaria all the way. Great quality, huge selection, and probably the best guarantee you get in this business.

The best store around here is probably Elmer's. I've had mixed experience with them, they are not perfect but one of the better ones. I did get fish with ich from them every once in a while though. Also, if you are looking for specific species, it could be a hit or miss.

I am a big fan of Oddball Pets on Joseph st over in Baldwin.

I no longer shop at wet pets for a variety off reasons which I would be happy to discuss in PM if you're interested.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Good luck restarting.
