Need Tunze Skimmer recommendation

I need to replace my Bubble Magus NAC-3 in my 12G sump attached to my 50G tank. The skimmer compartment is quite small (about 7"X7" with water level about 8"-9" high), hence one of the reasons I am looking at the Tunze skimmers.

What is the biggest difference between the 9006 and 9011 besides capacity? Do I need to get the extension set for the 9006 to use it in sump, and if I do does it add to the dimensions of the skimmer? If I need the extension set for the 9006, the price is very close to the 9011, however the 9011 seems like it may be way overpowered for my tank size even with a high bio-load.

Get the 9011, it is a much better performer and the 9006 does not include the extension or sump set, 9011 does, this makes the price difference miniscule. The only real reason to get a 9006 is for an in tank skimmer that needs to fit under a canopy, that is what it was designed for.

Ok great thanks. Does the sump/extension kit add much to the specified dimensions? I just want to make sure it fits. Also, is it possible this model will be too powerful for my 50G tank? Also, what's teh difference between the 9010 and the 9011? I see some places selling the 9010 for a good price

With the extension set you need a 5" by 7" area.
