I'd like to show everyone what I've been working on for the last few months.

Tank: 90 gallon AGA aquarium with a custom built overflow box and 2 x 1" drilled holes (Thanks Keith!).

Stand/Canopy: Pine, Sedona Series

Sump: 75 gallon AGA

Skimmer: 36" Life Reef (VS3-36) with MAG 18 pump

Return Pump: Currnelty a mag7, upgrading to a mag 9.5

This is an upgrade from a 65 gallon tank which is going to be sold once I complete my move. Lighting for now will be 2x 250watt aquamedic halides, hopefully installed this weekend.

My camera was dying so I couldn't use a flash.... or take the time to stand still apparently. Here are two poor picture of the tank and sump... I'll replace them once I go back to my new house.

Here are better pictures of my set up, if a MOD could delete the ones above it would save some space.

Thank you, I still have alot of work to do... move about 6 large pieces of live rock, fish, corals and set up the lights, I'll post progress along the way.

General Question:
The skimmer has been on for about a week and thats the color of the skimmate its making. There is 2 peppermint shrimp in the tank, and I've never put any food in it... since it's not pulling anything dark does that mean that the water doesn't have much waste in it?

Very nice. An experienced reefkeeper can tell a lot from just pictures. You have a very nice clean system- not sterile clean, but "full of life" clean.
Is the Midas Blenny an orange one or a dark one? Has it changed coloration at all?

Thanks guys!

Gary:

The midas blenny is orange, he hasn't changed color at all. He's in the first FTS I posted last night.

I don't know if you remember but I had a thread about getting chromis and I mentioned to you that one blenny was acting weird and the other one was starting to eat more. Well I havn't seen the one who's been hiding on the tanks bottom for over a week. Since you recomended anthias (and then since I introduced them into the tank) the second midas blenny has been out almost all the time. That is exactly what I wanted to happen.

To answer your question shortly; No he hasn't changed color... I think I had two males... probably only one now.

They bud, look at the pic you reposted. The bottom right head is splitting into two, first the mouths will separate and then after a week or so it'll pinch between the mouths and start to form a new head. I started out with 2 and a half heads about 6-9 months ago. I have a lot of heads splitting off the branches but slow branch growth (I don't feed them).

In the "Its a small world" category...Neil works upstairs in the same building I do.

Good looking system, that D. Clam is huge and open wide. Which clam did you lose?
