My BTA was having a hard time after my occelaris clown decided she wanted to host in it and tonight when i came home from work i found that it had walked and got shredded in my powerhead. All that was left was its foot , its tentacles got shredded into my tank which is now fairly cloudy, but not like milk. I keep zoos and the nem in the tank + my 2 occelaris clowns. They seem to be doing alright. My tank is a 20gL with a 20g tall, params all in check. The first thing im going to do is put my clowns into my 75g's fuge to get them out of the water. Do i need to remove my zoos / softies in my 20g too? What do i need to put in the tank to clean it up? The only thing i have access to tonight is carbon so im going to load the the tank up with that, but what is the proper procedure? Im also making water tonight so i can do a WC in the morning. Whats the best thing i can do so i dont completely crash this tank?

The carbon and water change make good sense to me. If the zoas aren't all closed up, I'd guess they will be OK.

Are you trying to save the BTA? I had a Condy get caught in a powerhead while doing a tank change over and it took off almost all the tentacles. It took a few months to get back to looking normal and now, 2 years after the beheading, it is perfectly healthy and hosting a female cinnamon clown and a male tomato clown.

The nem didn't have a single tentacle left. It looked like a sliver of calamari. I doubt it had any chance, unfortunately.
