Nem stuck to bag!!!!

Still fightin the battle with this thing! I ad an app and come home to it lying up-side-down in the sand! AHHHH! Moved it to a different rock and so far its holding with full current....goin nuts

Aye! Keep my hands out of the tank! Nem has been stationary for a while now. It finally settled on a rock and attached. Gonna keep the flow down for a while. Its finally starting to look better and extend again...Hope i dont jinz myself again!

The way the past 24 hours have been I didnt think I would be makin this post....The nem has been attached to to the same rock all day. 1 PH head runnin. It has actually inflated really well and is lookin a million times better. I thought it was a goner for sure this morning, and was ready to tear down my tank. In a last ditch effort i put the crispa on a rock as brian advised...it worked and i am somewhat at ease with it. We will see what it looks like in the mornin...

I was going to ask about lights too.
Usually when crispas go to rockwork rather than sand it is reaching for more light, but as bleached as it is it really needs to be acclimated to strong light.
Small feeding should help.
Hopefully it sets, but it is pretty bleached, and hopefully the bag issues didn't affect it(if it attached to bag I'm guessing foot was ok at that time)
FWIW mine was originally like that, and 4" at purchase to 2 feet later.
I had mine for 5 and half years before I downsized tanks and sold him w/ it.

I actually picked the nem up before the LFS put him in there tank :) And all was for not last night...It is my light I think. He was beautiful last night after lights out on the tank. The foot is huge! It was inflated and looked great...bad news...My Tank is in my living room, so ambiant light is on for another hour or so after the tank light are out...I cut the room lights and like it was waiting for it the nem bails off the rock to the sand! So, He is now in the sand, and was lookin good till lights on this mornin...then he shrank quickly. So now i have some plexiglass and whit paper sheets under the bulb he is under and he is reinflating! I should have light acclimated it fom the start. Rooki mistake.
By the way I have 2 150w 14000k halides, and 2 130w 420-460nm combo pc actinics. Nova fixture. Thanx for all the help and ideas! But like MOST of the time, it ha een complete user error on m part...But that is where RC comes in...My tank would be a disaster without it! I have been reading the threads since 2005! Just got my tank goin last april! Lots of info! I had never planned on crispa though...bout a month ago i saw the "show off you sebae" thread and was hooked!
My lfs ordered 3 for me to choose from, and i did get the healthiest looking one...cloe mouth and some color. The others were snow white, mine is a little yellow. Thanx again and i will continue to update progress....sorry for thelong post :)

one more...i tried to feed some enriched brine yesterday to no avail...will try again this evening. Any times tha would be better fr me to get him to eat?

Wait for him to be firmly planted before trying to feed him. I got lucky and mine planted as soon as i put him on a rock. He moved about and inch over and stayed. Like you I didnt light acclimate him. But i waited an hour of being planted, fed him a piece of mysis and he ate it.

He i eating now!!!! Rockin on the mysis! Hikari mysis with a turkey baster, and he ate a bunch! He is planted where he likes now. Best advice i have gotten, was what i knew to do and just wasnt....Dont muck with it! Keep my hands out. So far the nem is doin good with the light bieng cut down. I will gradually give him more light over the next week or so...would that be proper practice...faster slower.. I figure a week should be fine.

I didnt have the screen on hand. But i do think my rigg will work about the same. I will let it have a little more light every couple days...same principle i guess.
On a side note, i have a peppermint shrimp who is dead set on cleaning the nem. It shouldn't hurt right? Is it gonna be a meal for the nem sooner or later?

Do what you can to remove the peppermint shrimp, your anemone is already stressed, it isn't cleaning it, it is trying to eat it.

Peppermint shrimp are opportunistic feeders, and they can't be trusted with anemones. I have personally watched them go after an S. haddoni, which is a lot stickier than any H. crispa.

Heck, they are used to control pest anemones. I will never trust them again in a tank with any anemones.

Why doesnt the nem eat it? I did however find it on my nem right after i read you last post. Gonna banish him to the fuge till i figure out what to do with it. After the nem gets healthy I may put it back...Will it go after it once it is in good shape? My clowns arent exactly hosting but they run shrimp off the nem when they see it there...hoping its a good sign :)

CAn we change the name of the thread? lol Gues the topic got a little different and some dont want to read :) Thanx Sport, but the nem was removed from the bag with no damage...a couple days ago. :)
We need to change the title to "crispa care" or somethin! Oh well. Thanx for all the help...I got got a shrimp to cathc!
