So I've read various posts about how to identify true percs versus ocellaris clowns using the nuber of dorsal spines (or something like that), but I've not seen a clear picture of Nemo that would allow us to identify what species he is. Let me know what you think and why!

I voted for Ocellaris not because I think that's what species he is (I have no idea) but due to the fact that everybody who goes into an LFS and says "I want a Nemo" walks away with an Ocellaris clown (True Percs are too expensive, I guess...). So, I'm voting with the masses... that many people can't be wrong, can they? ;)

I voted other.

if nemo was a real clownfish, then marlin should have turned into a female when coral died and nemo would then mate with marlin.

:)

Not to mention, wasn't Marlin bigger than his mate? Should have been the other way around. ;)

The number of spines on the dorsal fins overlap between the 2 which is why it's sometimes a pain to tell the difference between the 2.

Occy's have 10-11 spines on their dorsal and Percs have 9-10.
