Neptune Aquacontrollers

Hi All at RC,

I have an AC3 that I would like to take with me to New Zealand, however there are some voltage issues, USA runs on 110V and NZ runs on 220V. I have spoken to Neptune and they can supply me with a different power adaptor for the controller itself, but i don't know how to get around my DC8. Neptune do not do the DC8's in 220V models.

If anyone knows of someone who has an AC3 outside of the USA please could they let me know how they are setting it up to 220V.

Are there other DC8 type plug units that are 220V that are compatable with the AC3?

Many thanks.

I looked into that but there are so many models and the watts are a concern, also i'm no electrician but amps will differ too. What kinda wattage will all my equipment draw from the power socket. I read up on my TV, its a 42" plasma and that draws 500W. So when you add Metal Halides, heaters, chillers etc, what kind of wattage are we looking at? I don't want to fry my equipment if you know what i mean?!

You can tally your wattage pretty quick. For instance;

powerheads -12 watts x 2
heater - 350 watts
retrurn pump - 45 watts
lights - 725 watts
skimmer - 25 watts
Total: 1169 watts

if i go for a 5000w power adaptor
($110 on http://www.world-import.com/5000a.htm ) to reduce the 220V to 110V would that be an overkill to be safe or does the amperage provided through the unit increase as well, please i know these questions may seem dumb but i'm no electrician!!
