Neptune Junior Group Buy for Reef Central Members

I am so glad I decided to check this thread out. That is one sweet deal on the JR. I just ordered mine today. I hope they are still in stock. Thanks PA for the great deal!!!:D

Hello my dear friend Jason!!!

I ordered my AC Jr. this weekend.

Thank you for all your nice help like always.

See you.

got my jr going.I tried to set my ph meter.I only have 7.01 fluid, it says you also need10.0.can I just use the 7.01? It reads 6.98in the run phase

Hi,

I might be wrong about the 1 step 7.01 fluid then. I would drop an email over to Neptunes support with what you are doing and see if they have any more sugesitons
support@neptunesys.com

It might require the 7 and 10.

Sorry I wasn't more help.

For the junior you need the 7 and 10 calibration solution to properly calibrate. I just went through this and asked Curt @ Neptune.

$229.95 is the regular price of the Jr. with backlight and serial port upgrade which is what we're now offering for the group buy. Right now the group buy price is $194.90. You're saving $35.05 off the base unit.

how long does it take to cal the phrobe? I can leave it set in the 7.01fliud for over a hr and it never reads below 8.12.then if I go to the 10.01 fluid it never reads below 10.90. never stops saying settling

If I try to set it it will try to up date then says phrobe is defecttive.Am I doing something wrong or what getting really fustrated here

when you are calibrating it it won't read the exact number of the solution. that is why you calibrate it so the controller itself knows the off set of the solution. i hope that makes sense. just let it sit long enough for the number to settle and not keep changing then hit the button and go on to #10 and do the same thing. after you've finished with the calibration then double check the readings. rinse the probe in ro/di water then let it sit in the #7 solution and it should read 7 or 7.01 or somewhere close to 7. rinse it again in ro/di water and do it in #10 and it should be 9.99 or 10.00 or 10.01 or somewhere really close. then you know it's calibrated.

so to re-cap it won't read 7.01 when you are doing the actual calibration but the controller only needs to know what the offset it for it to work correctly.

i hope that makes sense.

got my JR in!!! Thanks PA for the great deal and fast shipping. Now if only Neptune would ship my cable. Why does this dropship from them???? and when will they be shipping? thanks again

funny you buy the serial up grade and then have to buy a cable I should have just went with the one with out.it should be included from the factory

you can always build your own and save some money. it'd be nice if it were included but i don't expect things like that now-a-days.

I would build my own but where can I find a mini-din 8 plug to start?

cajunpuffer -- we dropshipped the serial cable from them because we were out and it would be faster for them to send it directly to you rather than send it to us then to you.

zaireguy--That's just the way Neptune markets the aquacontroller. The serial port is good to have in case you ever decide to use the junior with Aquanotes. Otherwise you'll have to build your own serial port, or you'll never be able to connect it to a computer.

cthetoy--I think you can get those parts at radio shack. I could be wrong though. Maybe Best Buy as well. If those don't work you can post in the Neptune forum and they should know where you can find some. I believe there are also some threads here that tell you where they can be had. Search back in the Neptune forum for a few months and you should see some discussion about the Junior with or without serial ports.
