Do octupuses need species only tanks?
never kept octos in my life

Great to start with such questions prior to making the purchase, it will save you a great deal of disappointment 
They are highly recommended for species only tanks. They will either be the predator or prey in almost all environments.
Plan for them to generate quite a bit more waste then an equivalent fish body mass.

Can octos be with other octos?
They will typically eat each other.

some species have been kept with conspecifics... these include bimaculoides and eldedone species but only in 500gal+ tanks, for any length of time.
In the last few years i have read about several attempts to keep octos together and not one attempt has ended well. To be honest, i wouldnt try.. not unles you have such a big tank...
... just out of sheer interest, why would you want to keep two together?
