THis bears saying repeatedly---NEVER USE COPPER IN YOUR TANK OR SUMP!
It's lethal to: live rock, live sand, invertebrates.
At worst copper can allegedly contaminate your silicon glue that holds your tank together, so you can never use that tank again. I tend to think that's true, because even things that seem solid have pores that can collect gunk that's almost impossible to get out.
Use copper ONLY in a quarantine tank, ideally a glueless plain plastic box with a corner filter with no carbon, only floss. Do not even use the same net with that water and your tank water, and where you must use instruments, dry them off well, rinse them, and dry them again. Be very careful not to let the copper treatment get back to your tank.
