It works. I have a group of six in one of my tanks.

You have to remember that these fish are found in harems in the wild.

Interesting, I thought royal grammas were one of those fish that fight too much to have more than one in a tank.

Nope! They are nice fish to keep alone, but keeping them in groups let you witness the amazing social interactions among the fish. I have had mine together for over 6 months.

would it be possible to add a few more into my 75? i have a well established and well fed 3 inch royal gramma and itd be cool to have a harem. should i wait for a bigger tank? just last week i was dumb founded cuase i saw 4 royal grammas in the same tank at the LFS and i was wondering how that is possible, now i know thanks.

I should update that thread.

I started off with 7, lost 2 in QT, added 5 to my 340 after 3 weeks of Cupramine. One didn't look so hot and soon I was down to 4 and I assume the sickly one was the one to go. So I now have 4. Sometimes they hand out together, sometimes they cruise around separately. I think 3 are bonded well with the 4 being a bit of an outsider. But there's absolutely no aggro now.
