New 120g Frag Tank

Thats lame but I've always liked glass better. Hopefully the tank company takes care of you fast.

Plus, I'll have a little more volume since it will be 16" deep. And I won't have to worry so much about roasting the tank under 12 x T5s.

The crack is on the bottom panel right near the bulkheads. Sucks.

Following along. Sorry to hear about the bad tank delivery. Hopefully they work with you on getting it resolved.

Thanks! They are working with the shipping company to get a refund for me. In the meantime, I went ahead and ordered a glass tank and it should be here the first or second week of October.

Does Ashley know about all your equipment? Lol Looks like you are setting up a sweet tank.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to hide the CC statements and the parts. She is on board as long as there is an end in sight. We all know there isn't, but it should taper off once I get water in tank.

Glad to see you on here, Mike!

PayPal does wonders with this. Lol
You just can't buy all that big stuff!

That's awesome she's on board though.

Looking forward to seeing it up and running. And if the glass tank makes it!

Thanks Sam! Yeah the jury is still out on the glass one getting here in one piece!

The new tank has arrived... and with no cracks or defects! Thanks to Reefdadx2 for the help painting the back! This thing is a beast: 3/4" glass all around, 48" x 48" x 16" and I'm guessing close to 400lbs dry.

A picture after my brother and I got it off the truck and onto the stand (and his wife who is a physician checked me out to make sure I wasn't in fact going to have a stroke from exertion):

That is a Rottweiler for size reference.

wow 3/4 inch glass what a beast, where did you order it from?

glass is better anyways

Glasscages.com. I wondered why there was a price jump at the 16" height as opposed to 12". 12" is the cutoff for 1/2" glass. My back is going to be a wreck tomorrow! Loading and unloading the tank yesterday and plumbing it today - haha...

It's all looking great!

Can't wait to see everything transferred over

Me too!!! I'm having a little snag on the return plumbing. I added a calcium reactor and wanted to T it off the return line for flow. I'll probably need to add a gate valve for that kind of adjustment control. Hopefully Lowe's will carry one in the size I need.

Also, decided to swap out the ball valve on the overflow for a gate valve as well.

On Saturday or Sunday I'll probably need some help finishing this up if anyone is down for an afternoon of plumbing and has experience hit me up. There's free pizza and beer in the deal for you :) PM me... thanks!

Wish I was available this weekend; and had any useful plumbing experience.. lol I'd definitely lend a hand.

Hopefully someone who knows what they're doing will offer to help you out!

Thanks Sam ;) I believe my brother is coming over. Between the two of we should be able to get it done. Or at least go for the record on wasted plumbing fittings. Haha....
