New 120g Frag Tank

Live rock, heater, and two Maxspect Gyres in the tank:

Also found Krylon and sprayed the return plumbing:

I set it all up and let it go. One of the drains is leaking. Left the gyres on. Of course the one that leaks is the one that I can't remove due to a gate valve being glued in place. More hacksaw fun....

Figures...

It's never something easy to fix is it?!

How did engineering all the plumbing go? Lol

Other than the leaky overflow it all went well. I'm still able to use it with the pump as long as I pull the emergency overflow tube out. So it is looking good and crystal clear. Have several bottles of Dr. Tim's and a bottle of ammonium on order. Here's hoping for a quick cycle!

It seems to be cycling well. Ammonia is near zero and nitrates are climbing ;) Lights go up tomorrow. Pictures soon.

Looking good!

Now put the coral in there. I'm getting impatient! Lol

Hahah... You have no idea! I'm so ready for this to be cycled and ready for frags. After a week of cycling I'm showing 0 ammonia after 24 hours, and my nitrates are on the rise. I may go ahead and do a big water change and start some tester frags in there to see how it goes. I have to call an electrician first to add a new breaker for the basement outlets. The new lights trip the existing breaker if I use them with the skimmer :(

Got a quote from the electrician for a new 20amp breaker with GFCI outlets. I am waiting to hear back from him to set up a time.

Tank seems cycled. I want to start out slowly so I may add a couple of fish first, then add some softies once the power for the lights and skimmer is run.

Sounding like you're getting closer to stocking it!

Was checking out some of your stuff Jorge is watching for you, pretty nice corals!
(I contemplated taking a pic of one and posting it in here saying I bought it cheap from him. Lol)

What are some of the fishes you're gonna have in it?

I really appreciate Jorge holding onto them. That would have been super funny if you had posted pics of them on this forum saying you got some cheap frags from him. hahah....

As far as stocking, I'm planning on keeping a few wrasses and maybe a couple blood red shrimps. I'm a little limited on which wrasse I can keep since I am running the tank bare bottom. It will be lightly stocked for now since I kind of blew the budget on the corals, haha.... But in the future I'd like to have some colorful fish additions.

I just bought a few sapphire damsels from UA and added them to the new tank. I wanted to get a picture but they disappeared quick. Thought I would add something while I was waiting for the electrician to run the new circuit. Jorge had some and said they aren't mean like most damsels and they don't get very large either.

Hey Jorge, guess what I got for you today?

Give up?

Hooked up the reactors and assembled the calcium reactor today:

Snagged a deal on some Gen 4 Pros so I grabbed four for my existing tanks:

That looks great!
Super clean and organized install. Everything has its place and is well thought out. Getting closer to stocking it!

Next you need to invest in a new couch. Lol

Haha.... yeah the couch.... it may be a while before I get around to replacing it. Hopefully the tanks will catch people's eye instead of the garish couch cover, heh....
