new 180 lights

i previousy had a 125 with metal halides then had to sell off tank due to move. now i am working on setting up a 180 in my new house. been thinking abot switching to t5 because of heat and power difference. ant suggestions? thanks.

If heat and power consumption are a concern you should be looking at LEDs, not T5s.

leds would be great but from the systems ive seen they are out of my price range unless someone can tell me how to do it for under $1000. i thought there would be a bigger diff between mh and t5 power.

i do still have a dual 250w ballast with sockets and reflectors so what would be the bulb to go with for coral growth? single end bulbs btw. and supplement with t5 maybe?

You could do two Reefbreeder Photon32's and a couple t5 retrofits for around a thousand. That is what is over my current 180 with good success.
