New 220 gallon build

I had 8 at one time, over the past year the other 6 have died. This is the first time they have spawned that we noticed, I cannot say for sure they have not done it before and we simply missed the event.

The yellow clown goby is my wifes favorite reef fish.

I've always loved these fish but shied away. I'll be curious if the damage becomes more widespread, if not, I'll likely follow suit.

Kurt,
I highly recommend this book if you're interested in attempting breeding. It's a great read and is very informative.

Will you be posting new pics of the clutch as the eggs develop? (hint hint ;))

The eggs now have 'dots' in them, or is it little fish with two eyes now showing?

if u wish to raise the fry, now would be the time to remove them to a different tank. im afraid if they become free swimming... it may be too late. (getting them out may kill them, or they will get eaten)

good luck and great pics!

Put them in here

Couple more shots of the branch now that its fragged.

this is a 100% crop of a hand held macro shot while holding the bowl with my other hand so not the sharpest image..., these things are very tiny but appear to be pretty far developed

This is slightly larger than real life

An extreme close up of the coral they were on, I now have MANY frags of this reddish acro with glowing green polyps

I plan on feeding them rotifers, phytoplankton and some coral foods/fish vitamins...hopefully something will be small enough to get them started.

All I can do is try....

I figure since I removed the eggs/fry the clowns will go at it again.

I took a couple photographs last night and will post them along with some from today after I get home. I switched things around a bit last night, the frag is now superglued to a 10g tank that is resting in the sump. Water flow is going into one side and out the other...will be tossing some algae in there today as well.

Picked up some rotifers and started 'growing' them, I am ready to make green water but need a culture. Luckily there is penty of algae on the glass in my tank lately (need a new UV bulb) so will just keep scraping it :)

Thank you.

We had 150 or so little funerals today...I think the next time I leave the clown goby eggs in the main display and if that does not work out then I will give moving them a try again.

Dan, the frag the eggs were on? I clipped it in the water and moved it immediately into a container of tank water for the transport downstairs.

When I found the eggs to be dead today I brushed at them a bit to get the slime off then discarded the frag into a pile of rock in the sump.
