Picked up a third Vortech yesterday and hooked it up, plan on reading the instructions and syncing them this afternoon (2 are the wireless, one will just run full bore all the time)

My wife had made a comment a week or two ago when some reefers stopped by the house that I could "Put a seahorse tank right over there..." which led me to believe she was not opposed to losing a bit more of the house to fish.

I approached her with my idea of going to the 300g system with the additional 8" of depth going into the dining room, she is not interested at all in that. :(
She is not opposed to the tank going further in the other direction, the family room however I am not sure about the load that would place on one area. Will have to find out how its built and what is there...perhaps a bit of building up would make it strong enough to support the added weight.

Randy, the one I bought from you is solid green and on the other side of the tank. Green "Bed" and green polyps.

Scott, I thought this was the one I got from you

Thanks Jon

Kurt, thats the one you got from me at Kent's swap.

Marc, you could have gotten that from Randy. I forgot what all I gave you. I know I gave some mini carpets. But after that.....I don't remember.

I've given away a few mini carpets to others to keep them in circulation, with the stipulation that others give them away and not sell them. My angled tank has about 10 of them at the moment. They are so pretty.

Kurt,
Any updates? Hows that arch you wanted to put in?

Been very busy with kids sports and a temp promotion at work...

The arch never came out, ended up with a lot more rock in the display. There are a couple smaller arch's involved but not what I had envisioned. Will have to take a couple FTS' soon.

I also decided that since I needed to dose two part anyway to get rid of the little CA reactor I had. Have been only dosing two part for the past week or two. If I were to try a Ca reactor again, would need to get something larger than what I had.

We lost two tank occupants in the past few weeks, the Deresa Clam died for no apparent reason...both Crocea clams are going strong. The last Scotts Fairy Wrasse from a group of three I picked up quite a while back also passes away.

This one on the other hand has not grown a bit, moved it last month to the top of the tank...will see how it does there.

The orange cap coral has a strange crablike creature that has made a home, it frequently sends out this "web" I assume to collect food

The new Anthias, it refused food the first couple of days but has eaten everything provided since (Frozen...flake...pellets)

Can't wait for this guy to grow up

Thanks Gary, I need to get a different angle/closer to the crab creature...that is a pretty huge crop but it would be nice to identify it.

Got this in a frag swap...any ID?

Oh, that reminds me...

Clam extension has never been better, their response to light excellent...but I lost the Dersa clam while both Crocea clams are doing simply great. Things like that are frustrating

Thanks guys.

Thanks to the good people of RC this was identified

Identification thread

It appears to be a vermited snail, which upon further looking at live rock I seem to have several...not an infestation by any means but more than 20 within the tank.

I don't see this as a problem, but I guess time will tell.

whats that orange stuff growing at the base of the clam?

That is a yet to be identified SPS colony. I think its either one of the poc's or monti's but it has not grown enough to really tell.
