Nice work with the light lift Rui.
The top down macro shots are hard due to low depth of field and handheld. But bit more practice will get you the results.
Thanks Sahin ... I need the BAO for the top down. End of February we will see how the pictures come out ...
The light lift runs better than mine. Good work [emoji106]

Thanks ... it took me a while to figure out how to do it ...
Hello!
I just read through your whole thread. Great build! Everything you've done is just pure excellence.
I too built my tank with no visible plumbing, pumps or wires. What initially attracted me to this thread was your building boxes to hide your powerheads. Then I see you later added mp40s in the display. You didn't explain what lead to this. Can you explain what happened? Were the tunzes just not powerful enough? Was there a design flaw with your boxes to house them? If you were to redo the tank, what would you do differently to keep pumps hidden, while still getting enough water movement?
I don't mean to be critical. I just want to know what happened, as I am planning a similar design.
Thanks for posting a great thread!
Thank you.
uhhhh your are mean ... you are touching the hound with salt ... :lol2:
So the Tunze 6095 are powerful. I can tell you that. Inside the box it does not work because you loose a lot of flow. One thing I came to realise is that the water that enters the pump creates almost more flow that the water coming out of the pump. So with the pump inside the box you are actually loosing a lot. As soon as I moved the pumps out the difference was amazing
If you want just to make waves ... it works fine just like the Tunze Wave Box ... but I don't like waves ... I prefer a chaotic pattern
just don't forget to open 2 big holes per Tunze to ensure you always have water inside the box and you don't have a lot of bubbles in the display.
I can tell you also that other have tried and came to the same conclusion. It simply doesn't work properly.
Also another big problem was the overflows. Very small overflow. You can see from my pictures that I always have a lot of debris in the water column
Beautiful stuff. Thanks for posting Rui
Thanks for reading Carrots. Appreciated.
Meanwhile the tank is getting ready to be changed.
I am getting simpler and simpler by the day. And what I feel is that every time I simplify things the aquarium and the corals respond better. So the new tank is without inventions and a simple proven build!
The aquarium is smaller but actually I am going to get 20cm more of display.
Old: 230x80x60cm 12mm glass but due to the overflow boxes I only had 200cm
The new one is ready and the supplier sent me some pictures:
New: 220x80x60cm 15mm glass with clear on the front and coast to coast overflow.
The change is scheduled for next saturday. Which me luck!
All the best,
Rui
